Different types of warts include subungual warts which appear under and around the fingernails or toenails, plantar warts that grow on the soles of the feet and the toes and periungual warts, a cauliflower-like cluster of warts that occurs around the nails. Mosaic warts are a group of tightly clustered plantar-type warts, commonly on hands or soles of the feet. Flat warts are generally found on the face and forehead. Filiform or digitate warts are thread or finger-like warts, common on the face, eyelids and lips.
Warts will sometimes go away on their own, but might take years to do so. You should see a dermatologist if you cannot get rid of the warts, the warts hurt, or you have many warts. Dermatologists have many treatments for warts. The treatment used depends on the patient’s age and health as well as the type of wart. Living without warts might just grow on you.
